Stencil Dyeing Studio Takada
Lecturer: Mr. Masahiko Takada, Stencil Dyeing Studio Takada
After studying the process of stencil dyeing under the guidance of Mr. Masahiko Takada, whose master is the late Kei Serizawa, a living national treasure in stencil dyeing, you will make a framed picture. Design motifs include a mikan orange, a camellia, a Japanese white-eye bird (all symbols of Yugawara), and others. Finish by coloring the pattern made of washi (traditional Japanese paper) using pigments.
It is necessary to make a reservation if you wish to try it yourself, but you can freely take a tour of the studio and other areas.
