The many rivers and streams of Yugawara provide great opportunities for fishing, with several varieties of both locales and fish to catch.

The Fujiki and Chitose Rivers
Charges
Yamame landlocked salmon season starts at dawn on the first Sunday of March. Fishing is permitted from Momiji Bridge to Suehiro Bridge, Akechizawa, and to the upper stream of the Chitose River.
Permits purchased on opening day are 3,000 JPY.
After opening day, yearlong fishing permits are 6,500 JPY.
One-day fishing permits are 800 JPY when purchased in advance, and 1,000 JPY for same-day purchases.
Trout Season starts at 7:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of April. Fishing is permitted from Ochiai Bridge to Suehiro Bridge.
Permits purchased on opening day are 2,000 JPY.
After opening day, yearlong fishing permits are 6,500 JPY.
One-day fishing permits are 800 JPY when purchased in advance, and 1,000 JPY for same-day purchases.
Sweetfish Season starts on the first Sunday of June. Fishing is permitted from Kawaguchi to Kawasegi Bridge, starting one hour before sunrise.
From the second Sunday of June, sweetfish fishing is permitted from Kawasegi Bridge to Ochiai Bridge, starting one hour before sunrise.
Yearlong fishing permits are 6,500 JPY.
