Introduction

The MOA Museum of Art is well-known in Atami City, Shizuoka, the east gateway to Izu, . The main lobby of the museum commands a fine view of Hatsushima and Izu-Oshima islands in the sea, and the 180-degree panoramic view of the great Boso, Miura and Izu peninsulas soothes the souls of people who look upon it. After leisurely appreciating the works of art, make sure to visit the museum’s garden, where you can view seasonal flowers and trees in the garden, such as ume (Japanese plum) and cherry blossoms in spring, autumn foliage and other natural scenery.

Regular closings Closed Thursdays (open when a national holiday falls on Thursday), and the second Wednesday of the month (except for January, February., and August) / Closed for a few days before and after the New Year holiday. There are periods when part of the museum is closed for changes of display.
Access Take one of the buses (Izu Tokai Bus) from Atami Station. → Get off at MOA Museum of Art. ・The bus for MOA Museum of Art departs from bus stop #4. ・The YU-YU bus departs from bus stop #0.
